THCP (tetrahydrocannabiphorol) — what the research says
A natural THC analogue with a seven-carbon side chain (THC has five), discovered in an Italian medical-cannabis variety in 2019. Present in the plant only in traces; the commercial supply is made from hemp CBD. Sold here as distillate from a quarter gram up.
How it interacts with receptors. In receptor-binding assays THCP bound CB1 about 33 times more strongly than delta-9 THC and CB2 about 5-10 times more strongly (Citti 2019). In mice it produced THC-like effects at lower doses.
What human research reports. Human trials are ahead; the receptor and animal data behind THCP are the strongest of any newly discovered cannabinoid.
Animal and cell research. Cannabimimetic tetrad effects in mice at 5-10 mg/kg (Citti 2019).
