What is CBN Isolate?

CBN isolate is the isolated form of the cannabinoid Cannabinol. The difference between CBN isolate and CBN distillate is that CBN isolate is the purest form of CBN isolate, usually with a potency of 99% or higher. CBN binds to the CB1 receptors in the endocannabinoid system like Delta 8 THC does. CBN was the first cannabinoid that was isolated and identified from a cannabis plant in 1899.

How to Use CBN Isolate

CBN isolate has several different methods of usage. Some people combine CBN isolate with MCT oil to create a tincture that can be consumed. Other consumers consume CBN isolate using softgels that are pre-filled with CBN and MCT oil. The majority of the other consumers combine CBN isolate with other cannabinoids to vaporize the blend. When this is done it is to create the “entourage effect” which is when all of the cannabinoids intaken work together in harmony.

Benefits of CBN Isolate

CBN isolate is one of our top selling cannabinoids. One of its biggest benefits is that it is not as potent as Delta 8 THC, so users that find Delta 8 THC to be too potent tend to gravitate towards the CBN.

How CBN Isolate is helpful for Sleep

CBN is commonly known to consumers as the “cannabinoid for sleep”. The reason is CBN is the degraded form of THC. When THC is exposed to heat and oxygen some of the THC is converted into CBN. Since CB1 works on the same receptors as THC, but as a degraded form, some of the effects are the same. Some of those effects include appetite stimulation, relaxation, anxiety relief, and ant-inflammatory relief. Some of the aforementioned issues are variables in why some people have sleeping issues.

Is CBN Isolate legal to buy online?

CBN isolate is legal to purchase online as long as it meets certain criteria. As long as CBN is hemp derived and less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC content, CBN is legal to ship anywhere in the US. This information is found in the 2018 US Farm Bill. That act defines hemp as: “All derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent.” These regulations change on a regular basis, so we do recommend checking with your states current guidelines before purchase.

CBN isolate has the ability to do several things. Since CBN is a degraded form of THC, it shares some of its beneficial properties. A study done in 2016 showed that CBN proved to be beneficial in appetite stimulation as well as in combating inflammation issues. CBN has been shown to delay the onset of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, the most common adult-onset motor neuron disorder, by two weeks in a study done on mice. (source) CBN has even been shown to be an effective antibacterial agent against the antibiotic-resistant strains of MRSA (source).

How is CBN isolate made?

CBN is a naturally occurring cannabinoid in both the cannabis and hemp plants. Unfortunately, CBN is found in less than 1% total cannabinoid profile of cannabis and hemp plants. Since CBN naturally occurs at such a low rate, all of the CBN on the market is created synthetically in a lab by chemists. The CBN that you use on a regular basis first starts life as a hemp plant. The hemp plant is converted into CBD isolate, which is then put through a chemical process and converted into CBN.

Does CBN Isolate Get You High?

CBN can enhance the effects of THC, which is responsible for the majority of the psychoactive effects in the cannabis and hemp plants. One its own CBN is said to have minor psychoactive effects when compared to CBN. CBN is actually the degraded form of THC after THC is exposed to a combination of heat and light. CBN also binds to the same receptors as THC, which is the CB1 receptor in the endocannabinoid system.
